2months pregnant and falling off of a golf cart.?
im 2 months pregnant , and over the weekend i went with my 12 year old cousin to her step-fathers camp. We were driving around in their golf cart..and we went to turn the corner and we werent going that fast, but i fell out of the golf cart because i was on the edge of the seat. and i flipped, but landed on my back. Nothing hit my stomache. I cant get into the doctor until Thursday, so i was just looking for some oppinions until then. Because i was worried and want to get a a check up. Do you think i could have hurt the baby even tho i landed on my back and had no force on my stomache?
Even if you'd had force on your stomach, the baby would probably be fine. It's what - not even the size of a grape right about now? Surrounded in a fluid bag, surrounded in more fluid in a muscle-lined organ, then surrounded by guts, then a layer of muscle, THEN surrounded by a layer of fat (even if you're not 'fat', there's probaby some there) and skin. Phew! That's a lot of cushioning. It'd have to be a seriously sharp jab to *just* the right place to harm the developing baby at all. Think of it this way. Put a frozen pea into a water baloon that's not over-full. Put a very soft pillow over it. And another. Now slap the top pillow, even hard. Think that pea is going to feel much?
I assume you told the doctor over the phone what happened? If they think there's anything to worry about they'll tell you to get to the ER or come in sooner.
If you'd disturbed your body enough to cause it to go into premature labour ... well, you'd know already!
If you see bleeding (bright red, not brown) or get cramps, see your doctor or go to the ER right away.
